Planet Nine's First Experiment

Can you think of any digital cultural system where people produce things without promise of compensation to which rules could be added to form a well-structured marketplace, but that doesn't have such a marketplace for its entirety right now, and instead is cluttered by advertising cancer and rot?

Let me show you some of its symbols:

look familiar

what's this say?

ah, the favicon

cultural systems sure do love their crosses

Now you may be saying, "you fool! The internet is a cultural system, but it already has a currency." And you'd be wrong of course because the internet does not have a currency, it simply uses the currencies of the marketplaces in which its sites are associated. So in a sense it has many currencies. And if that's the case, what's one more?

But as I said much earlier, Planet Nine wants to let the financial system do its thing. So its currency wants to do something the financial system cannot, and while I have a lot of ideas about what this might do, I'm going to tell you what it is, how it works, and let you draw your own conclusions.

It is called MP. Depending on your feeling towards the practical versus the magical, this stands for Money Points or Magic Points. Both of them mean the same for me since both Money and Magic need to be made by humans in order to exist.
