Here are the defining characteristics of MP in addition to having the Three Properties of Currencies.
* MP is granted, and not earned. That is you do not trade your labor for it, you just get it. * The grant is calculated every second so while not continuous, it's pretty close. This gives the sense that MP recharges over time. * It recharges at the same rate for everyone, but that rate may change. * There is a cap: max MP. This means there is an opportunity cost to _not_ spending MP. * It is expended instead of exchanged. This can combine with the rules of the marketplace for other exchanges of value.
Again, I have a lot of ideas of what this could do, and what it could be used for, and I'll probably write those up, but right here I think leaving this as open-ended as possible is correct for the experiment.
And that's experiment one: a currency for the internet that has different rules that everyone just gets, and can spend.
