On Games

I was on a call with David earlier, and we were meandering through the strange morass that only two people with really weirdly wide-ranging interests can, and we touched on games a couple of times. That has inspired me to write up how gaming has influenced Planet Nine.

First let's talk about why I don't talk about games from the outset. Similar to crypto, linking projects to games and gaming is an immediate turnoff for a lot of people. "Serious" developers think games are somehow easy, and people who don't game think they're unimportant. Regardless of your opinion here though, I ask you keep an open mind because games have been solving a lot of these problems for a lot longer than anything else.

And fwiw, as someone who has tried to do as much as possible, building a game that people actually want to play is by far the hardest thing I've done.

There's no order here, but here are some topics to explore.
